Hilma

For DA-Speedpaint's SdJ challenge. The theme was Open Topic. Time limit of 60 minutes.

I made this as a companion piece to this picture, as they're both my mother's dogs. Hilma is 10 years old now, she's of a mixed breed.

She was rescued from a puppy mill, a person held 111 dogs in a house in inhumane conditions, with the only aim of profit. Many of the dogs were in poor condition, and many had to be put down as soon as the veterinary got to the place. The woman responsible got 60 days of prison and a prohibition to own any animals for 5 years.
